Tuition Fee Study Abroad:
Students pay a flat fee of 13.200 NZD (Stand Jan 2023) for up to 60 points (4 courses). Students can take 3 courses as well, but will pay the same fees.
Auslandskrankenversicherung
All international students are required to have appropriate health and travel insurance while studying in New Zealand. The University of Auckland has selected the Studentsafe University Policy as its preferred insurance policy. An insurance fee must be paid by both Study Abroad and Exchange students, unless you are granted an insurance waiver for an alternative policy. The 2023 insurance fee is NZ$375 per semester, NZ$187,50 in summer.
Estimated living expenses (in NZD) (Stand: August 2022)
Estimated cost of living can vary depending on the type of accommodation and life style. Students should expect to pay NZ$6,000-$7,000 per semester for accommodation and basic day-to-day living expenses, including meals. See more details about the cost of living in Auckland here.
On-campus accommodation: University housing fees can vary from NZ$5,263 to $6,153 per semester and include water, electricity, wifi and University Recreation Centre membership. Fees for specific halls of residences can be viewed here.
Off-campus accommodation: Flats (apartments) range from NZ$3,971 to $5,567 per semester, but it excludes bond, utilities (water, electricity and wifi), etc. Homestays range from NZ$320 per week (plus a NZ$300 non-refundable placement fee).
Textbooks: Up to approximately NZ$600 per semester (not compulsory; digital, second-hand or library versions of textbooks may be available)
Photocopying: Approximately NZ$5 per week (10 cents per page).
Mobile: Approximately NZ$25 per month.
Travel: With an AT Hop travel card: Approximately NZ$35 per week. For more fares refer to the Auckland Transport website.
Food/Groceries: Approximately NZ$130 per week – if not included in residence plan.

AUT International Excellence Scholarships
These scholarships are open to all international students beginning their studies with us full-time from Semester 2 in 2022 (and for all remaining 2022 intakes).
They apply to students who already have an offer or conditional offer and start their studies this year. For those of your students who are offshore and new to AUT there are some options to study online for which this scholarship also applies. These programmes are here.

Undergraduate Excellence - $7,500 NZD
Study Abroad Excellence - $2,000 NZD
