Die 1883 gegründete University of Auckland ist international als Neuseelands profilierteste Forschungsinstitution bekannt. Laut dem Quacquerelli Symonds World University Ranking 2010 gehört die University of Auckland als einzige neuseeländische Universität mit Platz 68 zu den Top 100 Universitäten weltweit. Außerdem ist sie - ebenfalls als einzige Universität des Landes - Mitglied in der Universitas 21, einer angesehenen Vereinigung forschungsorientierer Universitäten aus der ganzen Welt.

Wichtig zu wissen: Die wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Fakultät hat als einzige in Neuseeland alle international relevanten Akkreditierunge: ACCSB, EQUIS und AMBA.
Die Universität liegt direkt in Auckland, einer weltoffenen, multikulturellen 1,4 Millionen-Stadt, die gleichzeitig die Handelsmetropole Neuseelands ist. Viele Buchten und Strände liegen nur wenige Autominuten von der Innenstadt entfernt und auch Ausflüge zu vorgelagerten Inseln können von Auckland aus leicht unternommen werden. Der Campus ist von Parks umgeben, bietet ausreichend Fläche, um in Ruhe zu studieren und ist nur einen fünfminütigen Fußweg vom Geschäftszentrum entfernt. Neun universitäre Wohnoptionen stehen zur Auswahl: vom Wohnheim mit drei Mahlzeiten pro Tag bis hin zum Apartment für Selbstverpfleger. Auch bei der Suche nach privaten Unterkünften in Campusnähe hilft die University of Auckland.
