Die La Trobe University,
die zu den führenden Universitäten des Landes gehört, hat sich einen ausgezeichneten Ruf bis über die Grenzen Australiens hinaus gemacht. Im Shanghai Jiao Tong University Ranking 2010 wurde die La Trobe University auf Platz 15 aller australischen Universitäten gewählt, außerdem ist sie Mitglied der IRUA (Innovative Research Universities of Australia) und des INU (International Network of Universities).
Eine breite Palette von Bachelor- und Aufbaustudiengängen
wird an der La Trobe University angeboten. Zur Auswahl stehen Natur- und Ingenieurwissenschaften, Informatik, Betriebswirtschaftslehre sowie Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften. Auf dem Campus steht eine der besten australischen Bibliotheken für den Fachbereich Bildung und Erziehung zur Verfügung. Wer Praxiserfahrung sucht,
kann sich an der La Trobe University außerdem für ein International Study Abroad Internship bewerben. Hier verbringen die Studierenden während des Semesters den Großteil ihrer Zeit in einem Unternehmen. Begleitend werden Workshops zu interkulturellen Themen und dem australischen Arbeitsmarkt angeboten.
Der Unterrichtsstil der Dozenten
an der La Trobe passt sich den Bedürfnissen und Ansprüchen der Lernenden an. So werden die Studierenden beispielsweise in die Gestaltung der Lehrpläne miteinbezogen und geben ihren Professoren durch regelmäßige Evaluationen ein Feedback. Internationale Studierende bekommen auf Wunsch vielfältige Unterstützung: Sei es, dass ein kostenloser Abholservice vom Flughafen organisiert oder dass Hilfestellung bei Bewerbungen, Visa-Angelegenheiten oder beim Schreiben der Hausarbeiten auf Englisch angeboten wird.

insgesamt in und um Melbourne. Der Hauptcampus Bundoora liegt eingebettet in dem einzigartigen Bushland und ist nur eine halbe Stunde von Melbourne City entfernt.

ist eine der multikulturellsten Städte Australiens und steht im Ruf, eine der lebenswertesten Städte der Welt zu sein. Auch für Abwechslung ist gesorgt: Man kann Sport treiben, das breite kulturelle Angebot genießen oder einzigartige Naturschutzgebiete bestaunen. Je nach Vorliebe lässt man den Tag sportlich-aktiv, schöngeistig oder ganz entspannt ausklingen.

Krankenversicherung
Alle Studierenden müssen während des gesamten Studienaufenthalts krankenversichert sein. Das Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) deckt hier die Krankenversicherung für internationale Studierende ab und ist eine Voraussetzung für das Studentenvisum. Studierenden der LaTrobe ist es freigestellt mit welchem Anbieter sie sich versichern, die LaTrobe empfiehlt die OSHC Worldcare der Allianz. Studierende können sich über die Universität bewerben, dazu müssen sie die Versicherungsgebühr mit den Studiengebühren zusammen bezahlen. Die Universität arrangiert dann die Versicherung. Bei der Bewerbung für das Studentenvisum muss bereits ein OSHC vorgewiesen werden. Eine Auslandskrankenversicherung kann in keinem Fall vom OSHC befreien. Bei einem Leistungskurs Englisch-Abitur von 6 Punkten oder weniger ist das DAAD Sprachzeugnis mit C1 Niveau zusätzlich nötig. Bei einem Grundkurs Englisch-Abitur: mind. 10 Punkte, bei 7-9 Punkten zusätzlich das DAAD Sprachzeugnis mit C1 Niveau.
